Campers gain practical AI skills through age-appropriate, hands-on projects that emphasize responsible AI use and real-world applications.
Discovery Tech's AI Explorers camp offers middle schoolers a hands-on introduction to artificial intelligence. Campers will learn what AI is and isn't through engaging projects, focusing on practical skills like effective prompting and evaluating AI accuracy. The curriculum emphasizes creating responsible AI-assisted content. Activities may include using AI to generate dynamic dialogue in games, designing tower defense games where enemies adapt using machine learning, or training robots to improve performance in sports challenges. The camp aims to spark curiosity in AI, build critical thinking and problem-solving skills, and provide real-world project experience.
A typical day involves hands-on projects where campers explore AI concepts, practice prompting, check AI accuracy, and create AI-assisted content, with full-day campers bringing their own lunch.
This camp is best for middle school students aged 9-12 who are curious about artificial intelligence and enjoy hands-on, project-based learning.
